Winter Hair & Skin Routine
As soon as we stepped off the plane from Hawaii I could tell my skin was NOT happy. Since being back I have upped my skincare routine majorly!! Here's what I'm using to combat dry winter skin & even worse - a dry scalp!
step 1:
I start my nightly routine with the Sanitas Skincare Dry Skin Kit, this skin kit has been a game changer for myself & for so many of our clients at Studio H! My skin type is pretty normal but I like to bump it up in the winter. The kit includes 6 multi-functional products to keep your skin so hydrated!
I switch between the Milk & Honey Cleanser & the Vitamin C Lactic Cleanser, I use the Milk & Honey nightly because it's a gentle cleanser perfect for removing makeup & it smells SO good! I use the Vitamin C Lactic Cleanser about once a week as it is an exfoliating cleanser.
step 2:
Moisturizing is key right now, even if you have oily skin. Moisturizer is used to improve skins hydration which is what almost all of us need right now! It's all about finding the right moisturizer for YOU!
After removing my makeup & cleansing I apply Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer, this is my all time favorite Moisturizer but if I'm feeling extra dry I might layer Topical C Moisturizer from the Sanitas Skin Kit.
step 3:
For the first time the other night I added the LightStim for Acne into my routine! I've had the occasional breakout since being home from the cold air, after one three minute application it reduced redness & calmed the area. After two nights of using the Lightstim the breakout was almost completely gone! This is such a great tool for anyone that wears a full face on a daily basis! It's perfect size for travel & so easy to use at home while you're watching tv or hanging out.
step 4 - hair:
So I NEVER have a dry/flaky scalp & since being home it has been SO bad. To fight those annoying flakes we use the R+Co Crown Scalp Scrub followed by R+Co Atlantis Moisturizing Conditioner. This combo works WONDERS! This treatment has resolved all the scalp issues we've seen this season!
step 5 - extra:
Drink WATER! You're thinking duh but it's way easier said than done, at least for me!
SLEEP ON SILK!! I cannot stress this enough! Sleeping on silk has helped my hair & skin so much. The moisture pulled into your pillow can draw in allergens & bacteria, when you sleep on silk less moisture is absorbed & it also reduces friction, preventing breakage & skin irritations.
